US News Ranks WSU Global Campus Online Degrees Among the Best in the Nation for 2020 – WSU Insider | SehndeWeb

PULLMAN, Wash. — Three Washington State University online programs have been ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

The university’s global campus ranked 23rdrd nationally for all undergraduate online degree programs, WSU’s online MBA program through Carson College of Business ranked 18andand Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture’s online engineering program ranked 21st. WSU’s online MBA and undergraduate degrees were also named among the best in the nation for veterans, ranking 13th and 18th, respectively.

The magazine’s 2020 ranking of the best online educational programs was released today.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as one of the top 25 online programs in the country. It is truly emblematic of the excellence and hard work of our faculty, staff, and students here at WSU,” said Dave Cillay, Chancellor of WSU Global Campus. “We are very proud of our continuous efforts to provide attractive, flexible and high-quality learning opportunities to students around the world.”

WSU is the only university in Washington State to rank in US News’ top 25 best online bachelor’s degree programs.

WSU’s global campus offers 20 undergraduate degrees and 12 graduate degrees in many disciplines, as well as numerous minors and certificates. New degrees this year include a BA in Anthropology, a BS in Biology, a BA in English, a BS in Earth and Environmental Sciences, and a BA in Political Science. Additional study programs are currently under development.

“We are proud to be consistently recognized as one of the top 20 online MBA programs in the country, especially since there are new entrants every year,” said Chip Hunter, Dean of Carson College.

In engineering, WSU was the only university in Washington State to rank in US News’ top 25 best online engineering degree programs. The program gained nine places out of 30and in 2019 at 21st in the 2020 ranking.

The online master’s and certificate program in engineering and technology management is aimed at engineers and technical professionals who aspire to advance their careers by quickly acquiring the leadership skills to effectively manage projects, people, organizations and technology, while working full time.

The Professional Science Masters in Electrical Engineering provides technical training in power system analysis, transmission and distribution systems, power system economics, and power markets, as well as management course options in areas such as law, finance and project management.

“When I travel and meet alumni, I often hear about the practical, real-world value of our online graduate engineering programs,” said Mary Rezac, Dean of Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture. “We produce graduates who not only have an in-depth knowledge of electrical power or systems engineering, but also the professional management skills needed to advance in the industry.”

To calculate rankings for online bachelor’s degree programs, the magazine evaluated data collected from 353 schools in four categories: engagement, student services and technology, faculty credentials and training, and expert opinion. For the online ranking of MBA and engineering programs, the magazine assessed five categories: engagement, expert opinion, academic credentials and faculty development, student excellence, and service and technology to students.
