Help fight local hunger! The staff at ACTS needs volunteers on May 14, 6-9 p.m., to support the Collecting food against letter carrier hunger. Volunteers will help unload donations at their Hunger Prevention Center, 17958 Dr David Cline Lane, Dumfries. Groups, families, and individuals are welcome, and you’ll feel great helping the staff organize their food warehouse to help feed food-insecure families! Historic Dumfries and the Weems Botts Museum are looking for a volunteer Photographer take professional quality photographs of the exterior of the museum and park to market print and digital marketing materials. Photographers will provide their own equipment. The park has many historic features as well as beautiful garden beds and flowering trees and shrubs. History Manassas Inc. prepares for the highly acclaimed Downtown Manassas Derby May 6, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Stick couriers Trigger, Red Rum, Tornado, Champion and Black Beauty need three volunteers Steady hands Ages 16 and up to support horse management and help keep ‘jockeys’ in order at the starting gates of stick horse racing. Jenkins Donelson Foundation hold a Community gift May 14 at the Juke Box Diner, 8637 Sudley Road in Manassas. Volunteers ages 12 and up are needed from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to unload vehicles, set up tables and merchandise, and help attendees choose merchandise. Additional volunteer hours are available to load vehicles one to two days before the event; if interested, advise by e-mail. Leopold Reserve at Broad Run offers their Friday Conservation Corps in partnership with the Bull Run Mountains Conservancy. Every Friday, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., they offer walk-in outdoor volunteer activities, including trash cleanup, brush clearing, and more. Join for an hour or stay for the afternoon! All are welcome, but volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To participate, please register for a specific date and time at leopoldspreserve.com/calendar. Day Program for Adults with Disabilities

McLean Bible Church The Manassas campus is looking for compassionate volunteers ages 18 and older to support their Day Program for Adults with Disabilities. Volunteers must pass a background and fingerprint check. The program runs Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Just a few hours a week will go a long way to support this special needs population and allow you to give back to the community! Spaniards Wanted

Northern Virginia Family Service needs Spanish-speaking volunteers aged 18 and over to help with their health access program. This virtual opportunity will support the Health Access Program Supervisor in daily operations. Duties include updating electronic client records, following up with clients over the phone, assisting with client intake, creating health literacy education materials and more. Bilingual Spanish skills required, must have some knowledge of data entry and be familiar with Google Docs, Canva or other graphic design programs. Prince William Conservation Alliance dedicated needs gardening volunteers meet Saturdays until late October mornings (9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) to plant native plants, pull up non-native plants, and any other tasks to maintain high quality habitat for local wildlife. This is held at Merrimac Farm WMA, 15014 Deepwood Lane, Nokesville. You can help feed food insecure families!

TO SERVE is in urgent need of Food recovery pilots 21 and over to support their food aid program. Volunteers drive to area grocery stores/restaurants to pick up food donations and deliver them to the Hunger Resource Center in Manassas. Be prepared to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Drivers must commit to twice a month for at least six months. Training is provided, as well as an agency van. Teenagers can ride with drivers to help them.
